John Rylands Library

As one of the top destinations in Manchester, the John Rylands Library was constructed on 1890 and was completed in the year 1899. A grade 1 listed building, it opened in the year 1900. Its architectural style is Victorian Neogothic. Founded by Enriqueta Augustina Rylands for her husband John, she wanted the library to be primarily theological which explains the Victorian Gothic church-like appearance of the building.

Royal Exchange

A grade 2 listed building, the Royal Exchange is located in the center of the city. Its architectural style is classical. Its construction started in the year 1914 and was completed in the year 1921.

Museum of Science and Industry

Another one of the top destinations in Manchester, the Museum of Science and Industry is considered to be a large museum that emphasizes Manchester’s achievements on science, technology, and industry. When it opened in 1969, it was initially called the North Western Museum of Science and Industry.

The Lowry

Manchester Town Hall

Designed by Alfred Waterhouse, it occupies a triangular site which faces Albert Square. Upon entering the building, you would notice sculptures that of prominent figures such as Barbirolli, Dalton, and Joule.
