2. Spirited Away’s Academy Award

If you’re a long-time anime fan, you may be familiar with the Studio Ghibli classic. Spirited Away is one of the most popular Studio Ghibli films. It’s also the first anime to win an Academy Award.

In 2003, Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away featured at the 75th Academy Awards. This film tells the story of a young girl named Chihiro, who’s forced to move away with her parents.

On the way to the new house, Chihiro and her family find an abandoned amusement park. Chihiro’s night takes a wild turn when she discovers that her parents have turned into pigs. She then meets Haku, who brings her into his world to protect her from the witch who controls the realm.

3. Call the Delivery God

Noragami is a story about lesser gods and the supernatural world. We follow a minor god named Yato, whose dream is to one day get his own shrine. Yato coins the name of the Delivery God, hoping to scrape up enough yen to build a shrine for himself.

In one episode, we see Yato scrambling to find jobs by spreading his number. Creators made it possible to call this number in real life and talk to the delivery god. This was only available in Japan during its first release and is no longer operational.

4. Hisoka’s Voice Actor

Hisoka’s voice actor from Hunter X Hunter is one of the most popular figures in the industry. You may recognize Daisuke Namikawa’s voice in various anime like Bleach and Naruto.

5. Akira’s New Colors
